Council Newsletter, Dec. 17, 2022

Hello Neighbors,

This newsletter will be somewhat abbreviated as I've been ill. Unfortunately, that also means that I need to cancel my coffee hour that was scheduled for tomorrow, December 18. Councilmember Eyer and I will host a coffee hour together on January 15th. I'll share details as it gets closer.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

A few items of note from the agenda:

  • CA-9 Resolution to Approve an Amendment to the Construction Contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation for the Scio Church Road Resurfacing Project ($3,576,100.00) and to Appropriate $85,000.00 from the Water Supply Fund. Ward 4 residents have been waiting on Scio Church Road resurfacing for quite a while now. Because of the project's postponement, it must be rebid. Construction is expected to begin in spring of 2023 and be completed in the summer of 2023.

  • CA-13 Resolution to Approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Ann Arbor and Ann Arbor Police Officers Association effective January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2026. The new contract advances key provisions around accountability using objectives set forth by the City and the Independent Community Police Oversight Commission (ICPOC).

  • C-1 Ordinance to Amend Chapter 14 (Purchasing, Selling and Contracting Procedure) of Title I of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor related to the Best Value Procurement Program. The original ordinance was adopted approximately a year ago. Staff are asking for revisions intended to streamline and strengthen the program.
