Neighbors,

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it!

City Council meets Monday, April 6th at 7 p.m. (even though the UM Men's Basketball team will be playing in the final game of the NCAA championships: Go Blue!).

Our agenda is very light. The only thing I want to highlight is the resolution to add a sidewalk  on the east side of South Main, between Stadium and Scio Church. In addition to the construction of the sidewalk itself, the project includes pedestrian traffic signal work at Main Street and Scio Church Road, sidewalk ramp improvements at Scio Church Road and Stadium Boulevard, and curbed bump-outs on Main Street at Scio Church Road. Total project cost is $4.7M of which UM will contribute $1.3M, and federal funding will contribute $1.3M. The remainder will be paid from the City's sidewalk construction millage. I’m thrilled to see this Ward 4 transportation investment moving forward. This addresses a long-standing need to make this stretch of Main safer and more accessible, especially with the planned Arbour on Main development.

I'd love to hear from you.
