September 5, 2022 Newsletter

Neighbors,

Happy Labor Day! I hope that this email finds you well and you've been able to enjoy the last days of summer with family and friends.

During my campaign, I promised regular, transparent communication with residents-- I'm committed to creating and maintaining a newsletter as part of that effort. My Council Newsletter won't take shape until after the General Election on November 8th, but I'm using the relative calm following the primary to share some community events and news.

On Saturday, August 20th, I joined community members at Wheeler Park for a Black Lives Matter mural painting led by the Survivor's Speak Washtenaw County BLM Street Mural Collective. It was a beautiful day, and I enjoyed connecting with Washtenaw County residents as I tried to paint within the lines laid down by the experts.

This was the second of two BLM murals painted in Ann Arbor Parks: the first was at Gallup Park. I encourage you to visit both murals yourself!
